Community Resource Center Updates – August 30, 2021

Worksource King County Virtual Job Fair: Tuesday, August 31 from 10 AM – 1 PM, join WorkSource’s free Virtual Job Fair to chat one-on-one with employers. This is a chance to meet many employers, share your resume, and schedule interviews.

To attend the event, you must use a device capable of viewing content (computer or video device). Please be sure you have reliable WiFi access. It is recommended to have your resume available to take advantage of this event. Register for free on the Regional Career Fair Virtual Event page.

Input Needed – Funding for Homelessness & Housing Stability Programs & Services: The Department of Education and Early Learning (DEEL) is seeking input to inform how funding can support youth and families experiencing homelessness. You can help inform how DEEL can ensure future programs are equitable and easy to access by
completing one of the following surveys: Youth (ages 10-21) or Adult (ages 22+).

ORCA Youth Program Opportunity: High school and income-eligible middle school students at Seattle Public Schools receive a free, unlimited 12-month ORCA card valid through August 31, 2022.

The ORCA cards provide no cost, unlimited transit on King County Metro, King County Water Taxi, Seattle Streetcar, Sound Transit, Community Transit, Pierce Transit, Kitsap Transit, Everett Transit, and Seattle Center Monorail. The ORCA cards may not be used on Washington State Ferries.

Neighborhood Economic Recovery RFP: The Neighborhood Economic Recovery Fund supports community-led strategies that reignite the local economy with an intentional focus on promoting racial equity. The Request for Proposals closes at 5:00 PM PST on October 7, 2021 for awards up to $100,000.
