Community Resource Center Updates – February 21, 2023

In this week’s Community Corner newsletter:

  • Looking for help with your energy bill? Low-income households may be eligible to receive assistance once every 12 months through the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). Seattle customers can call 1-800-756-5437 to learn more and to check eligibility.
  • The DSHS Office of Refugee and Immigrant Assistance is partnering with community-based organization to offer short-term housing assistance for recently arrived refugees and humanitarian immigrants in financial need. Contact ORIA Interim Refugee Housing Coordinator, Rachael Wright, at

  • The Census Bureau is currently recruiting a diverse and inclusive workforce of field representatives for the American Housing Survey, which is being conducted in our county this year. The position offers flexible hours, paid training, and mileage reimbursement.
  • Public Health Seattle & King County, Swedish, and Breast, Cervical and Colon Health Program are partnering to offer a free mammogram screening event on Saturday, March 11, from 7:30 AM to 4 PM at the Public Health Federal Way Storefront.
