Community Resource Center Updates – February 27, 2023

In this week’s Community Corner newsletter:

  • Due to expected low temperatures and potential for snow, the King County Regional Homeless Authority has extended its Severe Weather Response protocols through March 9. Families across the region can call the Family Shelter Intake Line at 206-245-1026 to be connected with a shelter bed and a ride to that location.
  • Struggling with barriers that are preventing you from successfully getting into rental housing? Join Solid Ground for this free online event on March 8 from 3 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. This second of a three-part series will focus on tenant credit information, evictions and orders of limited dissemination, dealing with past debt, criminal history on tenant records, and landlord discrimination. Learn more and register here.
  • King County Parks is hosting an interview and hire event for seasonal park maintenance workers on March 1 at TAF Bethaday Community Learning Space in White Center. The pay rate for this position is $25.09/hr and will include a variety of tasks, such as landscaping, athletic field maintenance, trail and building maintenance, and more.
