Community Resource Center Updates – March 20, 2023

  • The Washington State Department of Social and Health Services has released its updated Reduced Cost Services Guide for 2023. It includes information on discounted internet, telephone, utilities, transportation, medical care, financial assistance, gyms, and children’s activities. Questions? Email Brice Montgomery.
  • Bellevue College’s Multicultural Services’ Post-Prison Program, known as “Justice Involved,” helps formerly incarcerated persons transition successfully into college. Bellevue College (BC) provides one-on-one, step-by-step guidance with BC applications, college system navigation, financial aid coaching, academic program exploration, career exploration, class registration, and mentoring.   • BankWork$ is a free, online/hybrid, interactive 8-week class that helps eligible individuals prepare for a stable career with opportunity for advancement in the financial industry. DSHS food stamp recipients, meeting additional requirements, will be priority candidates. Learn more here.
  • Ecology Youth Corps hires adult litter crews to work March through December. Crew members work 10 hours per day, Monday-Thursday. Pay is $19 per hour, with medical, dental, and sick-leave benefits. Click here for more information and to check availability in your area.
