Community Resource Center Updates – April 24, 2023

In this week’s Community Corner newsletter:

  • Free dental, vision, and medical care will be available to anyone who struggles to access and/or afford healthcare for four days at Seattle Center. The clinic is scheduled for April 27-30, 2023. A limited number of admission tickets are distributed, beginning at 5:30 AM, on a first-come, first-served basis (one ticket per person) in Fisher Pavilion at Seattle Center. Patients will NOT be asked for ID or documentation of any type. Masks are required. Learn more here.
  • Washington Therapy Fund is working to eliminate barriers to Black healing for those who have been historically excluded by providing mental health education, advocacy, and therapeutic services at no cost to clients. These services are available to individuals suffering from racial trauma, anxiety, depression, and other ailments due to systemic oppression, economic suffering, and intergenerational trauma. • Join King County’s Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children Task Force on May 3 and May 4 for a virtual training that will provide stakeholders an opportunity to improve their ability to identify and serve children who are being trafficked or are at risk for victimization. The training was adapted from The National Judicial Institute on Domestic Child Sex Trafficking to serve the training needs of multidisciplinary stakeholder groups that are addressing child sex trafficking on the local level. • Homeless service workers working in Washington State with an immediate economic need and income at or below 80 percent of the county area median income they live in may be eligible for a stipend up to $2,000.
