Community Resource Center Updates – July 3, 2023

In this week’s Community Corner newsletter:

  • The Community Resource Center (CRC) and Seattle Municipal Court will be closed on Tuesday, July 4, in observance of the holiday.
  • Catholic Community Services will be returning to the CRC to provide housing resources each Monday from 9 a.m. to noon.
  • Individuals ages 18-24 who are interested in construction, do not have a high school diploma or GED, and who are eligible to receive food stamps are invited to participate in YouthBuild’s 28th Pre-Apprenticeship Cohort! Participants will receive paid construction training, transportation support, GED instruction, a pathway to union apprenticeship, and more! Program runs July 10 to December 8, 2023, Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. For more information, text (206) 295-7994 or send an email to Kody Allen with Youthcare.
  • Compass Housing Alliance is hosting a summer resource fair on July 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at their Seattle Compass Center, located at 77 S Washington St., Seattle, WA 98104. Resources will include healthcare info, ID replacements, government phones, veterinary care, job placement, and more. Learn more.
  • Do you face barriers and challenges with finding meaningful employment due to previous criminal convictions? If so, this free class is for you! The Roadmaps to Success Program is focused on job readiness and life skills and is aimed at individuals with both felonies and/or misdemeanors on their record. Clients may call (425) 657-6214 to speak with an Engagement Specialist. The next Roadmap to Success class session is from July 17 to August 4, Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Pioneer Industries (7000 Highland Park Way SW Seattle, WA 98106). Learn more here.
