Community Resource Center Updates – June 5, 2023

In this week’s Community Corner newsletter:

  • Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) time limit extensions granted due to hardship during the COVID-19 pandemic will end on June 30. Those on hardship extensions should speak to their DSHS case manager as soon possible to figure out how to keep getting the help they need.
  • Seattle & King County Public Health is hosting an Overdose Prevention and Response Training on Wednesday, June 7, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Zoom. Attendees will learn about recent updates on drug trends and will receive traning in overdose prevention. Register here.
  • Are you between the ages of 16 and 24 and looking for a new job? If so, the Peace in the Hood Job Fair is a great opportunity to connect with employers, receive job application and interview prep, and more! Join employers and other community resources on June 7, 2023, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Steve Cox Memorial Park. Learn more here.
  • WA Pacific Islander Health Board CBO Workshop invites the community to their 2nd Quarterly Community-Based Organization/Leaders (CBO) workshop on Wednesday, June 7 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Discussions will take place regarding health insurance, health equity, and community outreach in the greater Washington area.
  • Sign up for text alerts to get updates about additional summer Pandemic-EBT (P-EBT) benefits as soon as they are available.
