Community Resource Center Updates – June 12, 2023

In this week’s Community Corner newsletter:

  • Seattle Municipal Court and the Community Resource Center will be closed on June 19, 2023, in observance of the Juneteenth holiday.
  • City of Seattle is hosting a Juneteenth celebration on Monday, June 19, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Seward Park. The event will feature live music, games for kids, poetry, food trucks, vendors, and dance performances. Refer to the newsletter for information on additional local Juneteenth celebrations throughout Seattle.
  • Housing Stability Specialists will be on-site at the Wellspring Family Resource Fair on Saturday, June 17 from noon to 4 p.m. at 1900 Rainier Ave. So., Seattle, WA 98144. Attendees will have access to services and resources such as move-in assistance, utility assistance, diapers and wipes, employment assistance, and more.   • Looking for LGBTQ+ Resources? GenPride Seattle works with LGBTQ+ seniors to provide resources such as housing, health services, and community-building. Utopia Washington supports LGBTQ+ community members with basic needs such as food and medical care. Gay City Wellness Center creates community and empowers LGBTQ+ clients with transportation, technical, and nutrition help. Lambert House serves LGBTQ+ youth with conversation support groups, both online and in person and hosts events. Refer to the newsletter for a list of Pride events throughout Seattle!
  • Join community members on select Sundays every month in 2023 at Dope Culture Sunday Soul Community Dinners. Enjoy entertainment, fellowship, resources, and a home-cooked meal. Learn more here.
