Community Resource Center Updates – July 24, 2023

In this week’s Community Corner newsletter:

  • Project Be Free Family Resource Nights are every third Tuesday at VFW Post 1263. Clients can get connected to counseling, legal support, youth mentorship, and support groups! For more information, click here or call 425-324-5030.
  • Open Arms is back with the 3rd annual August Resource Giveaway sharing backpacks, school supplies, diapers, books, and baby items while supplies last! Spanish and Somali interpretation will be provided. This event is open to all community and families do not need to be enrolled in an Open Arms Program to be able to attend. RSVP here.
  • SAMHSA’s SOAR program increases access to Social Security disability benefits for eligible children and adults who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness and have a serious mental health illness, medical impairment, and/or co-occurring substance use disorder. Learn more.
  • Level Up will take place on Friday, August 25th, at the Kent YMCA (10828 SE 248th St, Kent). It will be a ‘s’more-tastic time with this year’s summer camp theme. There will be workshops, a job and resource fair, food trucks and giveaways. This event is for individuals ages 16 to 24. Sign up here.
