- The 3rd Annual “Recovery Fun Fest” and Fireworks for Recovery event will take place at the Seward Park Ampitheater on Saturday, August 9. Kick the day off at noon with a potluck at the12 Step shelters, join in a kickball game, participate in or listen to a singing contest, watch the Dungeons and Dragons movie, enjoy the fireworks, and stick around for a Clean and Sober Dance! - The West Hill Community Association is hosting the Skyway Park Takeover on August 12, and everything is free! Try out a variety of sports and activities, create the perfect picnic with food, drinks, and ice cream, dance to the live DJ or wacky brass band, scoop up giveaways and resources at the vendor alley, and keep an eye out for surprise guests. - Does your child need a new backpack and supplies for the upcoming school year? Youth ages 5 to 17 are invited to the Backpack Give on Saturday, August 12 at 11 a.m. at NW Life in Renton, where they can pick out their favorite color backpack filled with back-to-school supplies and a new pair of headphones.
